Deep Tissue Massage
Whether recovering from stress and tension due to overuse or preparing for a specific activity, this massage of firm to deep pressure, applied through therapeutic techniques, will lengthen and loosen the deeper muscle layers to increase range of motion and ease tension. Deep tissue pressure is done using an 8 to 10 Pressure which makes the depth deep to muscles and closer to bone making it effective in releasing deeper muscle tension.
This technique can be painful and bruising. Application of ice packs is highly recommended for 3 days following treatment.

An effective alternative to Deep Tissue Massage is the Trager® Approach:
Created and developed over a period of 65 years by MiltonTrager, M.D., the Trager Approach is an innovative approach to movement education, incorporating both passive (tablework) and active (Mentastics®) movement. Working in a meditative state, and from their own experience of lightness and freedom,Trager Practitioners guide the body of the client through a series of gentle, rhythmic movements that facilitate release of holding patterns in the body/mind.
Please consider this alternative for those muscles that consistantly refuse to release no matter how much massage or bodywork you have received. Just ask your therapist to apply the technique.
This technique can also be applied while the client is fully clothed on the table.
